The disciple, Levi, knew how to have fun following Jesus. He threw a huge party, invited Jesus, and had a good time. We should be more like him and less like the Pharisees, who wanted to police the party, as we follow Jesus.
 
 
Do you expect Jesus to work miracles during the storms of your life, or do you live in his presence daily? Today's winter storm is a reminder not to go to Jesus only during a storm, but to remember that he is with us and has promised to be with us at all times.
 
 
Do you wonder how you'll deal with the stress of the holiday season? Find God's peace in your life through rejoicing, prayer, and thanksgiving.

This is a video summary of our bible study from Dec. 6, 2009. We talked about these principles of giving from 2 Corinthians 8: 1) Give with a cheerful attitude; 2) give according to your means; and 3) follow your heart in giving as God leads you (v. 12).
 
 
Through his prophesying, Malachi condemned the judgmental hypocrites who were eager for God's judgment to descend...upon others! He taught that God's judgment begins with those who think they are least likely to need it. But judgment's end result is positive--God refines us through judgment, to purify us so we can offer acceptable gifts back to him.

This is my first stab at an audio book review. It's a little long, around 12 minutes. I tackle Jesse's book and some of thoughts about his material. The book may not be what you think it would be about.
 
 
In Philippians 1:3-11, Paul sets the tone for us by focusing on others instead of his own situation, fears, and troubles. Many of us need to be less selfish in our lives. We can know that we're growing spiritually when we focus more on others and less on ourselves.
