Do you find bible reading difficult and challenging? In this 6 minute audio, I offer a few simple suggestions that will help you read the bible to grow spiritually.
I like how you breakdown the process of reading the Bible (making it bite-size). I like the idea of writing down things that stand out or insight you receive while reading. That is something I need to apply to my reading. Am I putting a check mark in the box for reading my Bible or am I reading the Bible to learn from it? Thanks for the great idea! I will try to let you know how it goes as I implement the journaling into my Bible time.
Thanks, Nate. I'm glad you learned from this. Small and steady is the way to go with the bible, imo, at least until one has built up some capacity for more. It's just like exercise--you don't start out running 5 miles. You run small distances and build up strength for more. Bible reading and spiritual growth are the same.
On this blog I typically post audio devotionals, Bible study notes or resources that I'm working on for use at the Otisville Church of Christ, where I preach, or short articles about ministry and church leadership. Occasionally I post a book review.
