What the Resurrection of Jesus Means For You 04/25/2011
At the end of the Gospel of Mark, the women who first learned about Jesus' resurrection told no one. They ran away in fear. The implication is simple: Will you tell others about Jesus, or will you run away in fear? But how we tell others is just as important as what we tell them. Throughout the gospel Jesus teaches us both the what and the how. In Mark 1, he teaches us to simply invite others to "come and follow." In Mark 8-10, Jesus teaches us that we witness about him when we carry a cross and sacrificially serve others as the least among them.
Add Comment Amidst temptations to lead by control, manipulation, and coercion, godly leaders know that God calls them to serve others because it is their duty to God.
To those who are self-serving and use their religion against others by viewing themselves as better than others, Jesus teaches that life in the kingdom is about service, humility, genuineness, and open hospitality. Let your life be changed to follow Jesus into his kingdom by living the values of the kingdom.
